Dealer E-commerce Platform

(Overview)
As a hairyLemon client, Tait Communications engaged the team to design a global e-commerce platform for its dealer network. The initial release focused on a single product range with a wide variety of configurations and options, requiring a clear purchasing experience that could also provide a scalable foundation for future product ranges.

What I did
I led the UI design of the dealer e-commerce platform, working from requirements through to detailed interface design and developer handover. A key focus was simplifying product configuration, filtering and purchasing into a clear experience for dealers. I presented work through regular WIPs with external stakeholders, iterating designs around feedback while following Tait’s established digital systems.

Product discovery & configuration
Process
The project began with gathering requirements and understanding how dealers would navigate, configure and purchase products with a large number of available options. Particular attention was given to product filtering and configuration, helping users narrow their choices and identify the right setup for their needs. While the initial release focused on one product range, the experience was structured with future growth in mind. Designs followed Tait’s established digital system and were developed through regular stakeholder WIPs and presentations, with feedback and evolving requirements informing iterations throughout the project.

Outcome & Delivery
The final platform provided Tait’s dealer network with a clear way to explore, configure and purchase the initial product range, while establishing a scalable digital foundation for additional products in the future. Detailed UI and interaction patterns were delivered within Tait’s existing digital system and prepared for development.
